To fix the problem, we should add a
permissionsblock to thechecksjob in.github/workflows/publish-pypi.yml. Since thechecksjob likely only needs read access (for running tests, linting, etc.), we can setcontents: readas a minimal starting point. This change should be made directly under thechecks:job definition, before theuses:line.
